The action of CBD on hair

CBD oil on hair

CBD oil has been gaining in popularity for some years now. It is true that CBD provides innumerable benefits to the body, whether for its anti-inflammatory, antioxidant or analgesic properties.

It is true that CBD can improve your daily life whether it be in terms of comfort, pain relief or even in your cosmetics. But studies have begun to show that taking CBD will promote hair growth and delay the onset of baldness. Get comfortable, we tell you more in our article.

The benefits of CBD on hair

According to various studies, CBD oil is composed of macro and micro nutrients that are excellent for hair. It is in essential fatty acids such as omega 3, 6 and 9 that CBD oil is richly composed. In addition, it is accompanied by GLA, Gamma Linoleic Acid, renowned for its properties that promote hair growth.

But that's not all!

CBD oil knows how to please you. In addition to its fatty acids and GLA (gamma linoleic acid), the oil contains antioxidants and vitamins such as A, E and C as well as minerals such as phosphorus, magnesium and potassium.

But we haven't told you everything...

What you need to know for good hair growth is to protect the hair follicles, and CBD oil is rich in amino acids.

Amino acids are the main ingredients of proteins to strengthen, fortify and protect your follicles. You should know that 95% of your hair is made up of a protein called keratin. It's like maths in that respect!

What could be better?

In some cases of hair loss, the scalp becomes clogged with inflamed cells and toxins that can restrict your hair growth. As you should know by now, CBD is a great anti-inflammatory, it could help you deal with inflammation in your scalp, preventing dehydration and moisturising at the same time.

CBD for hair problems: helps regrowth?

CBD on dry hair

Looking for silky smooth hair? Then CBD could help you by reducing the dryness of your hair. As mentioned above, CBD moisturises and nourishes your hair with its various properties, helping you to fight against the free radicals in the environment that attack your hair.

Hair loss: Stress

During an episode of stress, up to two thirds of the scalp can lighten, causing about 30% of the hair to break and stop growing. This sudden hair loss is known as "telogen effluvium".

During this period of hair loss, you can lose up to 300 hairs per day instead of 100, according to the Harvard Medical School. But don't worry, CBD is known to calm stress and anxiety - as well as being good for your hair.

Baldness

We know that baldness is often a taboo subject. It mainly affects men between the ages of 20 and 40, sometimes earlier or later. There are many reasons for baldness: genetic factors, hormonal variations, stress or pathology. For some people, baldness can become an everyday complex.

Once again, to combat baldness or at least minimise it as much as possible, the use of CBD on the hair could help you.

Indeed, CBD oil could slow down hair loss without stopping it completely. It is therefore important to add it to your daily hair routine if you wish.

Alopecia

Alopecia is a medical condition caused by an autoimmune disorder. Most of the time it is accompanied by stress and anxiety at difficult emotional times. Unfortunately, most of the time it seems that anxiety and hair loss are linked. Fortunately, CBD works well for stress-related alopecia for many people who use it. Studies show that CBD improves the daily lives of people suffering from anxiety and stress. In addition, alopecia is caused by inflammation of the immune system, so CBD can help you reduce it.

How to use CBD on your hair

If you want to use CBD to promote hair growth, we recommend two effective methods:

The first method is to infuse a CBD flower in the oil of your choice that you use in your hair routine such as olive, castor or argan oil. Remember to decarboxylate the flower before using it in any oil.

After mixing the CBD and oil, let it infuse for a few hours (or even days) in a dry, sheltered place before filtering it and applying it directly to your scalp for greater effectiveness.

The second method is quicker and simpler, simply mix CBD oil with the oil of your choice before applying it to your scalp. You can put your mixture in a water bath for a few minutes to get the full benefits.

Both methods are best used as an oil bath for 30 minutes before shampooing.

We're not saying that CBD is the miracle cure for all your problems, but it can still be a daily ally. For some experts, the use of CBD on hair represents a potential way to strengthen and protect your hair, even if the role of CBD is not fully known. Hopes remain, however, optimistic about the medical application of cannabinoids.
