CBD in cosmetics

CBD has proven to be effective in several ways such as anxiety, pain, depression and sleep. As we explained in the 4 ways CBD can improve your daily life, we can see that it promises to give you a great time. But CBD has more strings to its bow than it seems!

Creams, lotions, shampoos, masks, skincare products, oils, CBD will never stop surprising you. It has anti-inflammatory, anti-ageing, firming and anti-oxidant properties that are good for the skin, so it's not surprising to find this natural product in your beauty products.

Let's take a detailed look at its benefits, how to use the products properly and most importantly how to make your own CBD-based cosmetic product.

Rich in essential fatty acids, vitamins (A and E), fibres and proteins, CBD becomes the ally of very dry and dehydrated skin. In addition, CBD promotes the renewal of the skin's hydrolipidic film, the skin's protective layer. But it doesn't just take care of sensitive skin by rehydrating it, it will also take care of mixed to oily skin by regulating sebum. Completely natural, CBD is a good alternative for your skincare, unlike the components of some products on the market.

Anti-inflammatory benefits

CBD is known for its calming and soothing properties. It acts on the skin as an anti-inflammatory and is suitable for all skin types (from the most sensitive to the most oily).

Every day, your skin is subjected to external aggressions and inflammations caused in particular by UV rays, pollution or a skin disease. This can result in pimples, redness and even itching. With the multiplicity of products on the market and above all their sometimes dubious composition, it is sometimes difficult to find the product that will be able to overcome these problems.

This is where CBD comes in, as it is known to soothe acne, pimples and blackheads, which are inflammatory reactions of the skin. Using CBD will allow you to soothe your skin but above all to treat this type of dermatological problem. It relieves irritation, reduces redness, deflates the skin and above all fights dark circles (our worst enemy).

Antioxidant benefits

CBD has antioxidant properties that are essential for good blood circulation but also for fat oxidation. A natural anti-ageing agent, it will help reduce the signs of ageing by boosting the production of collagen under your skin, for a younger, firmer and above all healthier skin effect. It works on the wrinkles and dark circles that appear on your skin as you age. You can start using it now to prevent wrinkles or to reduce them.

It also helps to eliminate the signs of stress, fatigue and smoking.

But that's not all, cannabidiol is a very interesting molecule because it can considerably reduce cellulite, stretch marks and small imperfections that may be visible on your body. CBD is even capable of accompanying you during your weight loss; some scientific studies show that CBD favours the burning of fat. With summer just around the corner, why not let yourself be tempted by its antioxidant benefits?

Relaxing benefits

Known for its relaxing and soothing properties, CBD can also be used as a massage oil for maximum relaxation. It helps you relax and reduce anxiety, relaxes muscles and helps you fall asleep.

Many people use it after sports sessions to help relieve sore joints and aches. This would involve putting on a CBD-based cream or oil and then massaging it into the area, maximising the effects of the cannabidiol on the skin.

Using CBD-based products

To enjoy the benefits mentioned above, we recommend applying a cream, gel or oil to the area to be treated. This is the simplest and most effective way to ensure beneficial effects. Indeed, the cannabinoids present in CBD go directly to the source, i.e. under the different layers of your skin.

An important point is that there is no risk in using CBD-based products because it is infused in the products. So there is no chance of you getting high. Furthermore, using a product in large quantities, such as a cream for example, will not double the concentration of CBD on your skin or in your body.

In addition to topical application, you can of course take it orally. In the form of oil, capsules, complementary foods or even herbal teas...

But take a look at our article Is CBD still legal in France in 2022 to find out about the new government reforms concerning what is legal and what is not in France.

As a result, you will be able to relax as much as possible by taking care of your skin, your body but especially your general well-being by reducing stress, anxiety and improving your sleep.

We add that CBD has an equally positive impact on your hair, eyelashes, eyebrows and nails.

CBD has a solution for every problem (psoriasis, eczema, signs of aging, skin healing, in short it answers everything!) Of course, having a healthy lifestyle helps to increase the benefits of CBD tenfold. You'll see that by adopting this lifestyle, you'll finally thank us... you'll thank CBD above all.

Make your own CBD products

Let’s improvise ourselves as cosmetologists and create our own products based on CBD. Grab your apron and gloves and let's go!  Lotions, creams, ointments or balms, topicals applied directly to the skin provide immense relief from chronic or acute localized pain. CBD is an excellent pain reliever to use anywhere and at any time of the day when you can't consume CBD in public.

Creating your products is simple! If you think it's a hassle, we at Cakespace make it easy for you.

Firstly, you need to get good quality flowers. To recognize a good quality flower, we invite you to read our article on how to tell a CBD flower is high-quality. The trick is to infuse the CBD into your products, and to do this you will need to grind your flower with a grinder and simply add it to your cream, lotion or whatever product you wish to make. The trick is to put it in an oil or fat-based preparation.

Heat your oil with your ground CBD in a double boiler over low heat, stirring continuously. Keep the heat low or very low so as not to lose the benefits of the CBD.

Let it steep for 20-25 minutes before straining the CBD oil.

Continue with the ingredients of your choice and let the mixture settle so that it can solidify.

Alternatively, if you don't have the time to do all of this, we invite you to take one of our oils and simply add it to your mixture. It's just as easy and effective! You follow the instructions in your recipe to make your cosmetic product by incorporating CBD oil into the fat of your preparation. You will not need to heat it in a water bath for the two oils to meet, as it will be ready to use straight away.

Finally, CBD will never stop surprising you. Wellness, relaxation, cosmetics, it has more strings to its bow than the famous Robin Hood. If you too don't like the cosmetic products on the market or you have never really managed to find what you like, take the plunge! CBD could become THE reference to integrate into your routine.
